Business financing.
We help business owners understand financing options and connect with participating lenders. For certain SBA financing, we may also provide administrative loan-packaging support as an SBA Agent or Packager where applicable. We are not a lender and we do not make credit decisions.
Start with your situation
You do not need to know the right loan program first.
Tell us what the business is trying to accomplish. We can explain the common financing categories and, when appropriate, introduce you to a participating lender whose programs may be worth exploring.
Working capital or a line of credit
You need additional liquidity for day-to-day operations, growth, inventory, or other business needs.
Equipment or major fixed assets
You are planning a meaningful equipment purchase or another long-term business investment.
Buying a business
You are evaluating the acquisition of an existing business or a partner's ownership interest.
Commercial real estate
You are considering business property financing. CSB remains referral only for commercial real estate financing.
The first step is simple.
01
Tell us the general picture
Share the business, the amount or purpose you have in mind, and what you are trying to accomplish. No sensitive documents are needed for the initial inquiry.
02
We help frame the options
We can explain common financing paths and general lender expectations based on the situation you describe.
03
The lender makes the decision
When an introduction makes sense, the participating lender determines eligibility, underwriting, structure, pricing, terms, approval, closing, and funding.
Who does what
CSB Advisors may
- Explain financing options and general lender requirements
- Collect basic information about your business and financing need
- Introduce you to participating third-party lenders
- For certain SBA financing, help gather, organize, and transmit application materials as an SBA Agent or Packager where applicable
The lender does
- Determine eligibility and perform underwriting
- Set loan structure, pricing, rates, collateral, and terms
- Make the approval or decline decision
- Prepare loan documents, close, and fund
SBA packaging support
SBA rules recognize third-party Agents, including Packagers and Referral Agents. When CSB Advisors is engaged in that role for an SBA transaction, we may help gather and organize application materials, prepare an administrative package, and transmit materials to a participating SBA lender as permitted by applicable SBA and lender requirements.
The lender remains responsible for final eligibility, credit analysis, underwriting, structure, pricing, terms, approval, loan documents, closing, and funding. Any Agent fees or compensation are disclosed as required, including on SBA Form 159 when applicable.
The common options
- SBA 7(a)
- The SBA's general purpose program. Often discussed for working capital, equipment, and buying a business.
- SBA 504
- Usually associated with major fixed assets, such as owner occupied property and heavy equipment.
- Working capital and lines of credit
- For day to day needs. A line of credit can be drawn on, repaid, and drawn on again.
- Equipment financing
- Tied to a specific piece of equipment, which usually serves as the collateral.
- Business acquisition
- For buying an existing business or a partner's share of one.
- Commercial real estate
- Secured by commercial property. We stay referral only on these and do not arrange or negotiate them.
Documents a lender may request
A lender may request tax returns, bank statements, financial statements, a debt schedule, ownership information, and, for SBA programs, applicable SBA forms and other supporting documents. When CSB Advisors is providing SBA packaging support, we may receive those materials from you, organize them, and transmit them to the participating lender through an approved process. In other cases, you may provide documents directly to the lender.
Do not send tax identifiers, account numbers, financial documents, or other sensitive underwriting materials through the public inquiry form below. If document collection is appropriate, we will provide separate instructions.
Participating lenders
When a participating lender may be worth exploring, we can make an introduction. For an SBA transaction where CSB Advisors is providing packaging support, we may remain involved for administrative document coordination. The lender controls eligibility, underwriting, pricing, terms, approval, closing, and funding. You are never required to use a lender we introduce.
We are finalizing our lending partner relationships. In the meantime, send us an inquiry and we will follow up.
CSB Advisors may receive compensation from participating lending partners for referrals and, where applicable, SBA packaging or Agent services. Compensation is subject to the applicable lender agreement and SBA requirements. Agent compensation and fees are disclosed as required, including on SBA Form 159 when applicable. You are not required to use a lender introduced by CSB Advisors.
Tell us what you need
This is an initial financing inquiry, not a lender credit application. Keep the information general and do not submit sensitive underwriting documents here. If SBA packaging support is appropriate for your transaction, we will explain the next steps and how documents may be shared separately.
